The Biggest Update Yet!

v1.3 is the biggest update yet for the Python Pitching Simulator. Download it here.

As you may already know, the game has 5 innings. You pitch at the bottom of the inning. Before each inning, the top is simulated by giving your team a certain amount of runs. However, this led to a bug in the older versions. If you were down at the end of the fifth, you could still come back in the top of the sixth, as adding the score was part of the end-of-inning code. This obviously isn't how real baseball works. v1.3 fixes that.

v1.3 also makes games less predictable. It adds fly outs and utilizes a different outcome code.

Unfortunately, it's still a quite predictable. In the future, I'll try to randomize pitches more. v1.4 will also sub you, the starting pitcher, out at a certain point.

Previously, the Python Pitching Simulator was on a Wix site. However, I realized soon enough that you have to pay  to sell items on Wix, even though the items (the game files) were free! I was very upset by this. I considered free hosting services, but I was too lazy to code. It had been around a year since I last made an HTML project. So, I used Blogger. Today, the Python Pitching Simulator is now downloadable from Blogger! Regarding the two versions you will find on the website, v1.0 was the only version on the Wix website. It is the same game as the school project, featuring three possible outcomes: Strike, Ball, and Base Hit. It also featured four pitches: Four-Seam Fastball, Changeup, Cutter, and Curveball. With the arrival of v1.1, two pitches have been introduced: the Slider and the Sinker. Additionally, if you make a very bad pitch, the batter can hit a home run. 1.2 out now; Opera page created

I know I just made v1.1.1 yesterday, but v1.2 is out now. It fixes one text clean-up I missed when making v1.1.1 (adding a space between a ball being called and the next pitch being made) and, more importantly, changes the way a pitch turns out. This update makes a base hit or a home run harder for the opposing team (the Python Code Sox). If you're a programmer and understand how Python works, you can look into the source code and compare v1.1.1 to v1.2 Additionally, if you use the Opera browser, you may notice that the sidebar is gone. You probably had to access this update from the bottom of the homepage. The homepage in Opera (no sidebar!) The homepage in Chrome (with the sidebar visible) I'm not sure why, but I made a remedy for this: the Opera page. If you go to the homepage, you will find a link for Opera users. Click on it, and you'll find links to all the pages on the website. I hope this helps if you use Opera. Keep pitching!

1.1.1 is out now!

  The all-new v1.1.1 doesn't have any new features; hence it is v1.1.1, not v1.2. It adds spaces between text for reading clarity. Additionally, lazy me made it so you could get a walk-off if it went to extra innings, which makes no sense if you're the away team! So I subbed the player out at the bottom of the sixth (yes, the game only runs for at least five innings) and gave the new pitcher a base hit, a strikeout, and a double play. Enjoy! You can download it from the Downloads page or the Home page (because it's the latest version as of today). P. S. Yes, because I was lazy to make loops, you can't play in extra innings. You just automatically win. Someday, I'll make a version where you can play in extra innings.
